Olympic Champion Headlines Ghetto Games Festival in Tallinn

Olympic Champion Nauris Miezis returns to Tallinn as one of the biggest stars of Estonia’s largest street sports festival. On July 18–19, Tallinn’s Freedom Square (Vabaduse Väljak) will once again become the epicentre of street sports and youth culture as Ghetto Games Tallinn returns for its fourth consecutive year. Organized by Ghetto Games in cooperation with the City of Tallinn and title partner LIDO, the festival will welcome athletes and visitors from more than 10 countries for two days of world-class competition and entertainment.

One of this year’s biggest highlights will be the international FIBA 3x3 Quest, where teams will battle for a coveted place at the prestigious Lausanne Masters. The tournament will feature Estonia’s strongest teams alongside top squads from Latvia, Germany, Georgia, Mongolia and other countries. The biggest attraction on the court will be Olympic Champion Nauris Miezis, who recently added a World champion title to his remarkable career and arrives in Tallinn representing Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar team. Fans will also have the opportunity to watch Frankfurt Skyliners, featuring players who have won silver medals at the FIBA 3x3 World Championships, creating one of the strongest basketball line-ups ever seen at the festival.

Beyond basketball, visitors can enjoy a packed programme featuring street football, dance competitions, combat sports showcases, spectator challenges, family activities and delicious food from LIDO. Festival activities begin daily at 12:00 PM, transforming the heart of Tallinn into a vibrant celebration of sport and urban culture.

“Sport, movement and quality food naturally belong together. We are especially proud to continue the strong partnership and traditions that Ghetto Games and LIDO have built together in Latvia, and to bring that same spirit to Tallinn. It is wonderful to see this collaboration grow beyond borders, creating new traditions in Estonia while bringing people together around sport, community and great food. We look forward to welcoming athletes, families and visitors to LIDO throughout the festival and creating memorable experiences together,” says Helena Laus, CEO of LIDO Estonia.

Football fans can look forward to the 5 Star Cup, a series of exciting 5v5 football tournaments across different age groups. The headline category will feature content creators, athletes, local celebrities and street football personalities competing in an entertaining showcase. Both the basketball and football areas will also host the popular Tupla Challenge, giving participants the opportunity to win a €1,000 cash prize.

“Every year we see the event growing, and that motivates us to raise the bar even higher. That is why we are excited to return to the heart of Tallinn for the fourth consecutive year,” says Ghetto Games founder Raimonds Elbakjans.

Street dance will once again play a major role throughout the weekend. During the day, young dancers will compete in multiple categories, while the evening programme will culminate with the spectacular VIP Dance Battle, where the King of Tallinn will be crowned in an electrifying 2-vs-2 showdown. Combat sports fans can enjoy an international showcase on Sunday featuring Estonia’s top fighters facing challengers from around the world.

The festival will also include the popular Run 4 Fun community run on the morning of July 19, taking participants through some of Tallinn’s most beautiful streets before finishing with coffee and breakfast at LIDO. The run has become a beloved tradition and continues to attract more participants every year.

Throughout the weekend, football enthusiasts will also be able to watch FIFA World Cup matches on a giant outdoor screen, including the tournament final, creating a unique viewing experience in the centre of Tallinn. Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to test themselves on the Tupla obstacle course, participate in competitions, win prizes and enjoy interactive activities designed for the whole family.

Admission to Ghetto Games Tallinn is free, and organizers invite everyone to experience two unforgettable days where elite sport, youth culture and festival atmosphere come together in the heart of Estonia’s capital.

Ghetto Games Tallinn 2026 is organized in cooperation with the City of Tallinn, title partner LIDO, and major partners Tupla, Skinest and Dzintars.
